A Few Volunteers Still Needed

We have a few critical volunteer openings for the Gainesville Cycling Festival.

For both the Santa Fe Century on Saturday and the Horse Farm Hundred on Sunday we need SAG drivers. These volunteers patrol the course offering water and perhaps minor mechanical help to riders and transport overextended riders to the next rest stop. We pay each driver $20 gas money.

On Sunday afternoon, we need additional help to unload the trucks at the club warehouse.

Millhopper Road Construction

On Wednesday, road work was active on Millhopper Road on the approaches to the I-75 bridge. One lane was closed and being resurfaced. Expect a delay at this location, but don't let it stop you from using the road.

We're just two weeks away from the Gainesville Opportunity Center Bike Day on Saturday, April 5. When you sign up using the link in the Members Area you get a special price of $30 for this event. You get the ride, an event t-shirt, and a draft craft First Magnitude beer.

There are three ride options:

A 42 mile road and trail ride that has the opportunity for a rest stop in Hawthorne.
A ride of a distance of your choosing on the Gainesivlle Hawthorne Trail.
A meander through Depot Park.

Registration opens at 8 am at the First Magnitude Brewing Company, 1220 SE Veitch St. Rides depart at 9 am.

Also featured will be live music, food trucks, vendors and a silent auction after the ride. Thank you for supporting the Gainesville Opportunity Center and adults living with mental illness.
