Team VetMed Scholarship Drive

by Elodie Huguet

Every year, we ride with the purpose to raise scholarship money to support our veterinary students on their academic journey. We aim to fundraise money while training for the Horse Farm Hundred, this year taking place on October 22, 2023, and award the money at the end of the academic year. Donations made to any of the scholarship funds below will support our efforts. Do not hesitate to reach out to any of us with any questions. We appreciate your help as we seek to make this year our best one yet. Any amount goes a long way, and we can't thank enough all our donors for supporting our purpose!

Bicycle University is Recruiting Instructors

The Bicycle University Gainesville is looking to recruit additional instructors for our 7-week course here in town. We teach basic and advanced bicycle mechanics to youth and adults. Our classes are conducted on Saturday mornings from 9AM to 1PM and are held at the L-Shaped Building @ Vida Springs Church 2925 NW 39th Ave 32605. Bicycle repair tools, bicycles, and parts are provided by the BU and are paid for by public donations and the Greenhouse Church. Upon completion of the course our students receive the bike they selected and rebuilt, helmet, framed diploma, set of tools and lubricants appropriate to the ability of the graduate, pump and patch kit.

A basic understanding of bicycle mechanics is very helpful, but you don't have to be a shop trained mechanic to become an instructor, we will train you.

If you enjoy learning and teaching, we would love to have you participate. Our next session begins Oct. 7.

With interest, please contact Gary Sinkus at bikemangarys1@gmail.com.
