Since October 2007, the GCC has supported the "Pink Ribbon Jersey," designed by member and breast cancer survivor Barb Thomas. From the time of the jersey's debut at the GCC's cycling festival that year, cyclists in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Israel, the UK, and all over the U.S. have purchased the copyrighted jersey, helping to raise $13,000 for breast cancer research.........

The design has been updated from the original design, but both are still available, in women's and men's short sleeved and sleeveless jerseys, as well as singlets (prefered by some runners and walkers) and matching gloves. Men's jerseys are a relaxed cut; women's are pro-fit (and run about one size small).

100% of net proceeds are donated to the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation to be used in research and in its "direct services" program, which "aids in providing low-income, uninsured women with screenings and treatment."

All styles and prices can be viewed at www.pinkribbonjersey.com

Please email me directly at bnbbarb@gmail.com to make sure the size, style and design you'd like are currently available from inventory on hand.

Help support the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation's efforts by getting a jersey or singlet for yourself, a family member, friend or co-worker........to wear during October, breast cancer awareness month, at one of the many rides, runs and walks. We've all been affected one way or the other by breast cancer, and it will take an army to defeat the enemy.

I_Butterfly at Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery

Wednesday, October 26, 2022
3:00 PM 4:30 PM
Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery
7204 SE County Road 234

We will gather together in the cemetery to welcome Cory McAbee, founder of I_Butterfly and his accompanying bike riders as they close out their tour promoting butterfly conservation/protection efforts. I_Butterfly is a nationwide festival of self-guided bike tours that will follow the monarch butterfly paths during the summer/fall migration season. The three paths will include the East Coast route stretching from Maine to Florida, the mid-America routes from Canada to Mexico, and the West Coast route from the Rockies to the Pacific Ocean and/or from the Northern West Coast states downward. Since 2019, I_Butterfly has been in communications with green burial grounds and conservation cemeteries to collaborate on the reintroduction of native milkweed and to bolster their native wildflowers that are essential for monarch butterfly restoration.

PCCC will provide some light food and refreshments. Any and all are welcome… especially bicycle riders.

We kindly ask people who have tested positive for COVID-19 within 10 days of this event or who are not feeling well to please not attend this gathering as safety for our staff and community remains one of our main priorities.
