Dues Increase

With the price of everything going up and the loss of revenue from the Festival and Brevet series, the Board has decided to increase Club membership dues. The cost of an annual membership is still only about half of what you pay for a single day invitational event.

Effective February 1, 2023, new members can join the Gainesville Cycling Club by paying dues of $30 or $45 for an entire family.

The base rate for dues will be $27 per year ($42 for a family). When you pay your dues, we also collect a processing fee to cover the cost of preparing new membership cards and sending you a decal. The processing fee is $3 for new members and $5 for renewing members in the month of expiration. Renewing members get a $3 bonus (reducing their processing fee to $2) if they renew prior to their month of expiration. You avoid multiple annual processing fees by renewing for multiple years.

There is no limit to the number of years that you can join/renew for, but the web site only supports up to ten years (except when you select Life Membership). If you wish to join/renew for more than ten years, contact the Membership Secretary.

You become a Life Member when your current membership would otherwise expire after your 80th birthday.

You don't need a sweetheart to do this ride. Just bring your favorite bike and ride a sweet route. Enjoy your choice of 25, 52, 62 or 100 mile route options. All rides start at Suwannee Bicycle Association (SBA) Headquarters, 10570 Bridge Street, White Springs, FL.

Battle of Olustee Ride

A tradition started in 1984 by Gainesville legend John Harlan (RIP) and evolved into signifying the start of the Florida racing calendar, the Battle of Olustee will muster troops at 9:00 a.m. Sunday at the Holiday Inn corner of 441 and University Avenue. It will head north on 441 then north (right) on 121 at the Highway Patrol Station. We'll roll out promptly at 9:10 a.m.

This is a racing event not affiliated with the Gainesville Cycling Club. There is no entry fee, no support, and no insurance.

Tour de Forts

The North Florida Bicycle Club brings you a one-day bicycle event designed for all road cyclists, the 23rd Annual Tour de Forts Classic. Featuring Fort Clinch, Fort Caroline and Yellow Bluff Fort. We'll provide pre-ride snacks, rest stops stocked with food, water and Gatorade, marked routes, maps, mechanical support, SAGs and a post-ride lunch.
