Release Updated

HELP!

The Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail Keepers, a volunteer group that helps maintain the trail, is running short on volunteers. Anyone who is interested in becoming a volunteer should contact Jim Eckert - email: major0202@yahoo.net or cell (352)318-2767. Active volunteers in this GCC Service Group do not pay dues. Volunteers will be signed up in the Paynes Prairie State Park volunteer system. Generally, a volunteer will use park equipment to blow debris off the trail each Friday.

2021 Brevet Schedule

200 km: 3/20/21
300 km: 4/17/21

Look for more details as we get closer to the events.

City Amendment #2

For decades bicycle advocates and local leaders have wanted to create a "Hogtown Greenway", a new, community-spanning bicycle-pedestrian trail for families to enjoy. One erroneous portion of the charter blocks this, but the "Construction of Pavement on City Land" would eliminate this provision and allow this new trail to be constructed. That's why it's been endorsed by Gainesville Citizens for Active Transportation - GCAT.
