Adopt-A-Road

GCC’s next quarterly litter cleanup will proceed as previously scheduled on Saturday, May 2nd. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will still do the cleanup but practice social distancing, working individually or in pairs of individuals (for those who are already sheltering in the same home). Volunteers should plan to bring their own surgical-type mask or other face covering, since we will be in a public space.

Just 3 volunteers have signed up thus far. As always, the more volunteers we have, the faster we will finish. Cleanup will take place on Saturday, May 2nd, and we will be meeting at 0730 to get an early start. Please see the Adopt-A-Road Event in GCC's Members Area, or contact me with any questions. Thanks, as always, and stay safe and well.

Regards,

-Ally Gill

The Club has a paid Zoom account that is available for Groups to use to stay connected during this time.  Currently, the Cruisers use the account to meet at "Virtual Starbucks" every Wednesday at noon (until mid-March, we'd be there in person after our Wednesday ride).

If your group would like to use this account (which allows you unlimited time - free accounts have a 40 minute cutoff), have your Group Captain email Roger Pierce to schedule a time.

Bikes 4 Vets

Hi folks,

I hope everyone is staying safe these days. If you have been cleaning out your garage and find you might have a bike you’d care to donate to the "Bikes 4 Vets" project, let me know.

We're still getting bikes donated and rehabbed for homeless vets. A big shout-out to Michael at Gator Cycle who has routinely donated bikes to this project!

We have some very tall vets that we are having trouble finding bikes for. The tallest is 6'3' and down from there. If you have any bikes that you would donate that would fit these guys, we would be most grateful ... and needless to say, the vets would be too.

I'd be glad to pick up your donated bike. Don't worry about the condition; Pete, the "Bikes 4 Vets" mechanic, totally rehabs every bike that's given to a vet who has been homeless.

Many donated bikes need new tires and other parts. Click here if you can spare a few bucks to help buy these items.
