RSVP for Bastille Day Picnic

Saturday, July 14, 11 am

Join us at Poe Springs County Park on CR 340 west of High Springs, 28800 NW 182nd Ave.

As the park does not open until 9 am, plan early rides to leave from High Springs, and then drive out to the park after riding. Shorter rides can meet at 9 am at the park. Some groups will plan rides from Gainesville to the park.

Chandler will cook brats and dogs, and bring some fried chicken. *** BRING *** side dishes to complement the main course and for dessert.

Eating will start when the fire is hot, probably shortly after 11 am.

We will provide enough main course for those who RSVP! Please RSVP if you will be eating the main course.

RSVP in the Members Area.

Jerseys and Caps Now In the Store

The GCC Store has been restocked with jerseys! We have a good supply of the Classic (gator on bike) jersey, and a small number of Eye4 and the new Retro designs. Also available are GCC cycling caps, water bottles, and mirrors. See the store page for full details.

Join A Service Group!

The Gainesville Cycling Club has two service groups that help maintain paths that we ride on. Both of these groups are currently recruiting new members to help spread the load and fill vacancies. When you are an active crew member in one of these groups, your membership will be renewed at no cost when it comes due.

Trailkeepers

The Trailkeepers help keep the Gainesville-Hawtorne Trail clear of debris. Members are registered volunteers with the Florida Park Service. Each Friday, a Trailkeepers crew drives the blower over the Trail to clear off the week's accumulation of debris.

Millhopper Crew

The Millhopper Crew keeps the bike lanes on Millhopper Road clear of dangerous debris. Members are assigned to a crew which has the responsibility for a one mile segment of the road. The Crew Chief lives near the road, and regulary checks its condition and reports to the Crew so they know when a clean up is needed.
