Thanks for a Great Festival!

A BIG thanks to the many GCC volunteers that made the 2015 Gainesville Cycling Festival a success! We had 121 Club members signed up as volunteers (of 253 participating in the Festival).

We had 367 persons sign up to ride on Saturday, featuring 38 doing the inaugural Gravel Challenge. We'll be presenting the Boys & Girls Club a check for $10,000 next week.

The Horse Farm Hundred had 602 riders signed up for our first departure from the First Magnitude Brewing Company.

Work will start on the 2016 event soon. We'll be looking for a few volunteers to do the up-front planning and publicity. Dates for next year are October 21-22.

SIGN UP for the Veterans Day Poker Run in the Members Area. This ride meets at 8 am at Bikes & More, 2133 NW 6th St.

The main event features an 80 mile ride visiting four Veterans Memorials in Alachua county. A card is drawn at each memorial, and at the end of the ride. Prizes awarded for the best and worst hand. It's possible to do a route that is more direct with less mileage, or do a shorter ride that does not collect all possible cards. Click the banner above for full information.

Victory Party!

Join us to celebrate the GCC's third consecutive victory in the National Bike Challenge at the First Magnitude Brewing Company on Friday, November 20, at 6 pm.

We'll provide a free craft beer to each member of our team who contributed miles to the victory.

RSVP in the Members Area.

Holiday Party

Our Holiday Party Committee has some exciting plans for this year's party! We'll be meeting at the Holy Faith Church social hall, 747 NW 43rd St on Friday, December 11, for set up at 5 pm, social hour at 6 pm, with dinner at 7 pm.

We're looking for a few folks to cook turkeys. There is a link on the RSVP page where you can sign up. The Club will reimburse you for the cost of a turkey and disposable pan. You'll also be able to sign up to bring a side dish.

The committee has devised a new game, "Need To Know". There will be prizes! We'll do an article on the web site with more details.

RSVP in the Members Area.
