Sunrise Riding Group

Faster rides that start earlier than the club standard meeting time. We leave early, we don't include a rest stop and we're home early enough to take care of everything that needs taking care of on the weekends.

When: Saturday mornings.  Meet at 7:20 am for a 7:30 am sharp departure. During certain times of the year, the departure time will vary slightly to accommodate sunrise.

Start: The Chevron Gas Station NW 53rd and NW 43rd
Pace: 20 mph average.  This means we usually cruise at around 21-22 on flats.  In the last 3-5 miles of this ride, speeds will go up and be sustained at 24-28 mph...with a finishing sprint.

This ride is ideal for those who are on a time budget on Saturdays.  We are usually back by 9:30am.  Because time is of the essence on this ride we leave sharply at the departure time.  Please by ready to ride by then.

Our drop policy is:  We regroup at select turns until we get close to home.  

Please be aware that the early morning start time for this ride means we ride at a time when low sun angles increase the danger of being on the road.  The route is designed to mitigate this, however it is recommended that you have some supplemental lighting on your bike for the ride.

It is great that the owners of the Chevron allow us to use their parking lot.  Lets all remember to respect their property and be careful not to block traffic going in and out of the station.:
