Successful Festival!
We had great weather and a decent turnout for the 2023 Gainesville Cycling Festival.
190 riders signed up for one of the Santa Fe Century rides (88 of whom were GCC members).
297 riders signed up for one of the Horse Farm Hundred rides (103 of whom were GCC members).
The Club cleared just above $3000 over expenses, which will help get our accounts into the black for the first time since the pandemic.
The event was made possible by the work of 57 volunteers, 43 of whom were GCC members. We were short volunteers in a number of areas this year. You may have noticed that some Santa Fe aid stops had only a couple of folks. Behind the scenes, we were short on load/unload crews among other things.
To be truly successful and be able to make a larger donation to our partner, the Boys and Girls Club, we really need a higher level of participation from our members. Please plan to participate and/or volunteer next year!
