RIP John Harlan
John Harlan passed away at 67 August 25th after a long battle with cancer and a series of strokes.
In his earlier years, John was a renowned bicycle racer who once held the State Road Race Champion title. A video of a win of his in 1984 is online here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_ALfvNu8f8
Most of us have known him as one of the premier bicycle mechanics in Gainesville, most recently working at Super Cool.
If you ever rode with him, you know that he was an avid student of military history.
For the last several years, he has served the club as a volunteer with the Bikes 4 Vets program, rehabing donated trikes for veterans who needed basic transportation.
