Getting GCC Admin Mail on Gmail

by Roger Pierce

Gmail has a warped sense of what needs to go into the Spam folder.  Most Gainesville Cycling Club administrative transmissions (ride announcements, expiration notices, etc) can be affected by this (GCCMail is done differently, and is not usually affected by this problem).

When you find an email from GCC in your Spam folder in Gmail, click on the drop down menu "More", and select "Filter messages like these".  On the pop up, click on "Create filter with this search". Check the box on the next pop up that says "Never send it to Spam", then click "Create filter". We send from a few gccfla.org addresses, so you may need to set up several filters to completely solve the problem.

(If your ISP is Earthlink, Road Runner, AOL, or the Alachua Free Net, you have a different problem.  Those ISPs will not deliver most GCC administrative emails at all; they send them back as undeliverable.  The only know solution for this is to get a Gmail account and make it your GCC contact email address.)
