Cranksgiving Returns!

Ally Gill

Cranksgiving is part bike ride, part food drive, part scavenger hunt, and it's back again in November 2016, benefiting citizens at GRACE Marketplace.

Cranksgiving is an annual Thanksgiving-themed alley cat ride that is held nationwide to help stock local food banks during a time of increased need at the holidays.

The event set up like a time-limited scavenger hunt.  The goal is to hit every checkpoint along the route. You may choose whatever route and order you wish. Along the way, participants must purchase low-cost food items from designated participating stores. Food items naturally become part of the final food bank donation.  You will need a means of carrying the food items back to the finish, and you must save your receipts, as they will serve as your proof that you stopped at every checkpoint, (fair enough, right?) per the rules!  Prizes will be awarded for fastest finishers, but everyone who participates will be rewarded with a fun time and a warm feeling of helping the less fortunate among us. Plus, you get to ride your bike! Questions?  Contact organizer Ana Fajardo at freewheelcycling@gmail.com.
