Paul Corey Memorial Rides & Reception

from Tony Cousins

On June 24th, 2013 the Gainesville community lost one of the original supporters of Team Florida Cycling and area cyclists and students. Paul Corey owned The Bike Route, first located next to Burrito Brothers (original location) and then expanded to another store at 2300 SW 34th Street. The Bike Route sponsored the team for many years after the team was founded, and he employed hundreds of UF students over the years while they attended college. After selling the business in the early 2000's, he stayed active in the Gainesville community and volunteered at the Gainesville Fisher House, an organization that provides housing close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury.

Memorial Rides

Two rides will take place Feb 1 & 2. We encourage all cyclists to come out and ride with Team Florida alumni and see what the old guys can still do on a bike. Both rides are very casual, and we plan to ride 3-4 hours each day. Both rides will meet at 8:45am, wheels up at 9am.
