Memberships

The GCC currently has over seven hundred active members. Membership provides all of the great benefits detailed in the Benefits section.

To become a member of the club an individual must fill out a membership application and get it to the membership secretary along with the appropriate dues. The dues are $15 per year for individuals, $20 for families, and $10 for full time students. The dues may change from year to year. When joining or renewing, individuals and families can sign up for more than one year and receive a discount for the additional years. The rate for years after the first year is $12 for individuals and $15 for families. When renewing, you can save a dollar by renewing online before we mail you your renewal letter. The online form generator calculates the correct amount due.

Each person wishing to join the club must send in an application. Families joining should send in one application with Family dues, and additional applications for other family members with no money (select "Add me as a family member of..." option).

Members get a discount of $5 on the ride fees for the Gainesville Cycling Festival. Members receive a membership card that is good for discounts at most Gainesville bike shops (see Business Sponsors box in the newsletter). Until you receive your membership card, the newsletter envelope identifies you as a club member.

Should you inadvertantly send in less money than is required for your membership, we will sign you up for the period that can be covered by what you send. For example, $12 will get you a 6 month individual membership. Given the low cost of our memberships, we strongly suggest that you take advantage of the option to sign up for multiple years. This means you don't have to worry about renewing for awhile, and you save by getting the multiple year price on the additional years (but NOT the first year, whether a new or renewing membership).
