The GCC supports bicycling events in the Gainesville area that are put on by Club members by providing the use of Club equipment, publicizing the event to Club members and persons who have attended past events, and may provide registration support and insurance coverage.
The GCC produces the Gainesville Cycling Festival and the Brevet Series. The person responsible for each of these events sits on the GCC Board of Directors, and the Club is fully responsible for all aspects of the events.
The GCC will support charity bicycle rides organized by GCC members that do not conflict with Club Produced Events. These are events to which the general public is invited.
The GCC may provide event insurance through our provider. The premiums may be paid by the GCC or from event receipts. The event will have the use of GCC equipment as needed. If adequate notice is provided, GCC registration software will be provided. An event web page will be linked to the GCC home page, and a registration link for GCC members will be placed in the Members Area.
Special rides restricted to GCC members will be supported using the Club Event System. This system can support fee collection. Club equipment will be made available. Event insurance is not required.
Events for which the promoters elect not to provide insurance will not be supported by the GCC. Equipment will not be made available, and the event cannot be publicized using the GCC web site or listserv.
