Holiday Party

Here are a few details about this year's party! We'll be meeting at the Holy Faith Church social hall, 747 NW 43rd St on Friday, December 11, for set up at 5 pm, social hour at 6 pm, with dinner at 7 pm. Please RSVP soon so we'll have enough beer!

We could use a few more folks to cook turkeys. There is a link on the RSVP page where you can sign up. The Club will reimburse you for the cost of a turkey and disposable pan. Use this same link to sign up to bring a side dish.

We'll have a sale table set up if you have stuff to sell, as well as a donation box for Bikes 4 Vets (need cycling clothing, parts that would fit utilitarian bicycles, bicycles).

From Mr. Goodbike (425 NW 13th Street), the only bike shop in town that has won two city beautification awards, owner Mike Hedrick, a bike shop veteran of 35 years, will be joining us with prizes in tow for the lucky winners of "What GCC'rs Need to Know", your holiday useful trivia game.

Please bring your questions and educational answers in the categories of :
Bike: history and records
GCC and Gainesville
Trips and Trails, and
Mechanics and Safety

RSVP in the Members Area.

Board Opening

We have a new position, Membership Services Director. This person will be responsible making sure that all new members get a personal call soon after joining the Club. We want to be able to have someone personally answer questions, such as "What group should I ride with?", "Can I just show up for a ride?", "How can I get help fixing my bike?", etc. We've found that many persons join the Club, but never get up the nerve to actually participate in any rides or events. This position is not limited to the calling function, it is up to the imagination and drive of the incumbent to make it work.

The Board meets once a month, usually on a Monday evening. Contact the Chief of Staff or any Board member if you are interested in being on the Board.
