Jersey Order Open

Closes June 23

Because we hit the 100 item mark on our fall order of the Classic jersey, we've locked in a very good price. On reorders, we can get that price with a minimum order of only five items in each category (tops, bottoms, accessories). So we've opened up another, last chance, order for the Classic jersey, which closes on Monday, June 23.

This is your opportunity to add shorts to match your new jersey that you got in a previous order, and/or arm warmers. And the price available for top-of-the-line quality jerseys (MADE IN THE U.S.A) is unbeatable (except by the GCC Store, which has a limited stock from the last order - check the store for available sizes).

Note that Voler offers two types of arm warmers. There is a lightweight version which is basically jersey fabric, which is great for Florida winter mornings or for summer sun protection, and a heavier fleece lined version good for those colder mornings.

Voler also has some very nice technical undershirts which I have found fit well and are really comfortable.

This will be your last chance to order a Classic GCC jersey for several years; we bring it out about every 3-4 years. Get yours now.

Join Our Challenge Team!

The League of American Bicyclists National Bike Challenge continues through September. The Gainesville Cycling Club Team still needs YOU to sign up to defend our national #1 title from last year. The Omaha team is continuing to match us in new members signed up, so we can't let up! We need YOU to sign up and log your miles.

The way the competition works is that you earn 20 points for each day that you ride, plus a point for each mile. Someone who rides a mile a day around their neighborhood earns 147 points a week; a weekend warrior doing 50 mile rides on Saturday and Sunday will earn 140 points. As you can see, everyone can significantly contribute to our team by riding just a few minutes, but by doing it most every day.

Miles for each month MUST be entered in the month ridden. On Saturday, May 31, make sure you get your May miles into the system; on Sunday (June 1) it will be too late. You'll still be able to join our team, but it will be too late to add your May miles.

There are several ways on the web site to join a team. The easiest is to click on Leaderboards (below the blueish bar), then click on Teams; scroll down to find the listing of teams, point to Gainesville Cycling Club -- a Join button will appear for you to click.

Logging your miles manually on the web site is quick, and once you've done it a few times, easy. You can also hook up a Garmin type device to log your miles using several different web site options -- this is not required.
