Raw Festival Results

Curious folks want to know!

We had 953 riders register for the Gainesville Cycling Festival this year, down just a bit from last year. Since 201 did both days, 1154 rides were registered for.

The Orthopaedic Institute Santa Fe Century had 409 registrants, with 269 registered for the century.

The Horse Farm Hundred had 745 registrants, with 467 doing the century. 215 registered to start the Horse Farm Tours from Flemington.

120 signed up to do both centuries; we declare them "Twin Centurians". Check out the list in the Members Area.

We're still paying bills, but expect to have enough left over to support the Club's budget this year. All of the work put in by the 136 volunteers makes those picnics and parties possible!

Are You Wearing the Mad Squirrel?

There are some Santa Fe t-shirts still available, featuring the Mad Squirrel, sure to be a classic.

There are also plenty of Horse Farm t-shirts available.

Size availability is mostly L and XL, but see the GCC Store for full current availability.

A Few Jerseys and Jackets Still Available

We severely depleted our stock of Classic GCC jerseys and jackets at the Festival, but there is still a good selection by size. But they are mostly one only, so don't wait to get yours.

We'll be opening a reorder of the Classic GCC jersey November 4, closing November 18, to ship mid-January. The pricing on our stock items in the GCC Store will be a bit better, but you'll have the full selection of Voler items to choose from on the Voler web site. We'll need to get five persons to order shorts to be able to get any; other items will meet minimums with the Club order.

GCC 101: Membership Renewal

You can renew at any time by clicking the button in the upper right corner of the Members Area. You can pay using PayPal (no account required, you can pay as a "guest") or by mailing in a check.

All memberships expire on the 23rd day of an odd numbered month.

You can save a dollar by renewing while in the bonus, which is before we mail out your membership renewal reminder in the mail, which are sent out around the first of odd numbered months. For example, if you expire on July 23, we need your renewal before July 1 for you to claim the bonus.

We will send email warnings when you get down to three and one weeks to go, and when you expire.

Please consider renewing for more than one year. This saves us the time and money needed to process a membership, and saves you money since we give you a break on those additional years. This price break only applies to the second and subsequent years that you renew; if you take the break on a one year renewal, you are only renewing for 6 months.

Join Capital City Cyclists for the 30th Annual Spaghetti 100 on November 9, 2013.  This iconic ride starts at the Miccosukee Community Center and rides into the scenic back country of North Florida and South Georgia.  The road routes take riders through historic Thomasville and Boston in Georgia and then through Monticello in Florida. The dirt routes are non-technical, following the beautiful canopied clay roads through the heart of classic Red Hills plantation country.
