Annual Meeting, Party, and Swap Meet

Saturday, March 9, is almost here! Details and sign up are available now in the Members Area. You can also just click the link in the annoucement email sent a few days ago.

Door prizes have been contributed by (so far) Adventure Cycling Association, Gator Cycle, 8th Ave Bike and Coffee Shop, Bike Works, Bikes & More, Mr Goodbike, Super Cool Bike Shop, Cycle Therapy, and the GCC. If your business would like to contribute a door prize (cruise, new car, etc), reply to this email.

The Swap Meet (actually more of a tag sale) kicks off at 5 pm. Bring all of the valuable stuff you have sitting around in your bike area that you no longer have a use for. Please label items with an asking price and your cell phone number (so you can be contacted if you choose not to be chained to the table).

Due to space limitations in the hall, please limit your entry in the Concours d' Elegance to one bicycle. If the bike is not freestanding (few are - kickstand) bring something to keep it upright if possible. Members will vote for the winner in: Modern Road, Presentation, Antique, and Commuter. Antique bicycles are those manufactured before 1988. To be eligible for the Commuter category, the bike must be ridden to the meeting!

The vegetarian menu is being provided by the Reggae Shack.

Through Time on a Bicycle

There are still openings for this guided, interpretive ride on the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trial on March 9. See much more detail in the article on the News page. By reservation only – RSVP in the Members Area or call George Edwards at 352.373.2502.

Time Trial

The GCC Time Trial Series kicks off Saturday (March 9). See full info at this web page, and sign up in the Members Area

*** DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME STARTS SUNDAY! (March 10) ***

Spring forward one hour (set clocks ahead, lose an hour of sleep).

Bike Florida Registration Deadline Nears

You have until Friday (March 8) to register for Bike Florida. The ride starts in Lakeland, and visits Clermont and Lake Wales. Entertainment is scheduled each night! See http://www.bikeflorida.org/ for details.

eNews News

If you do not want to receive eNews, you can now opt out in the Members Area. Remember that we no longer publish a paper newsletter, so eNews is your primary "push" contact with the club. If you prefer to "fetch" your information, everything in eNews (including eNews itself) is available in the Members Area on the News page.

Expect to see an eNews once or twice a month, more of them when a lot is going on, not so many when not much is happening. Most news will first be available in the News column in the Members Area, and will be announced in the daily Ride Schedule transmissions on GCCMail. eNews will be the primary communication with those members not on GCCMail who do not regularly check the web site.
