The GCX group is again pleased to announce a limerock stage ride on Saturday 9 May. Gilchrist and Levy counties each have quilt shops and quilt museums, so it is obviously "quilt country." But they also have a great network of low traffic limerock roads. We'll mostly be riding on a mix of farming and timber roads, suitable for mtn bikes and cx bikes. This event consists of two separate stages: South loop is 44 miles (27 limerock), and the North loop is 62 miles (46 limerock). This group ride will traverse the 44 mile South loop only. Park at the Nature Coast Trailhead right next to the Suwannee Valley Quilt Shoppe; we will roll out at 8am sharp. The pace will be easy and conversational, if you want to ride faster you should join the main group. This ride is unsupported and there are no refueling stops on either loop. Bring your own lunch too!
