Riding Group Dung Beetles   Info
Sunday, November 9   11:00 AM
Road Ride
Meet: San Felasco State Park Trailhead
      13201 Progress Blvd, Alachua
Planned Miles: 10
Route: Easy Rider tumble
Ride Leader: Robert Wilt

This ride is open to actual GCC members only. If you are not a registered GCC member then you should let me know ahead of time so I can bring a release for you to sign, otherwise you cannot ride with the Strays. If you have previously been on a ride with the Strays, but are still not a member you will not be allowed to ride.

And if your spouse or other family member is a registered GCC member, but you don't have a FAMILY membership, then you are not a member of the GCC. This if for insurance purposes. All issues can be avoided by signing up to be a member, you can now do this easily online.

Dung Beetles will meet at the kiosk near the start of Cellon Creek and Cottontail trails at 11 am for the first ride of the season. Since our off road skills are pretty rusty, this will be a very slow and careful ride probably of about 8 miles or so, until we get the feel back. We will definitely do Cellon Creek and the Cottontail. More difficult trails if we feel we are all ready for it.

Arrive at 11 am for an 11:15 start.

If you have not been on a Dung Beetle ride before be sure and read all of the information online regarding the group before showing up to ride.

Make sure your bike is ready to go before you arrive. After sitting in the garage for a while your bike may need some tweaking to be ready. And make sure your tires are pumped.

Entrance fee to the park last year was $4 per car, $1 for a cyclist on a bike. Couldn't find anything on the website about the current fee, so it could be higher.

Its liable to be chilly in the shade of the woods, so dress with some layers.
