Riding Group EZ Riders Info
The Hokey Pokey riding group will explore the Nature Coast Trail on Monday, May 27. The group should meet at Fanning springs Trailhead (see directions below) at 9:00 a.m. for a 9:15 ride start. This is a paved rail trail, no cars, just bikes and hikers. This ride should be a good appetite enhancer for the GCC Picnic at nearby Hart Springs. Don't forget to RSVP to the picnic on the GCC website. Everyone is welcome is come on this ride (of course, you must wear a bike helmet). Don't worry about being slow, no one is slower than me and we never leave anyone behind. The ride will be chaperoned by the ride leader who will ride at the back of the group to make sure no one gets lost. The ride leader is also a bicycle mechanic who can help fix flat tires and help with any other mechanical problems. Directions to Fanning Springs Trailhead. Take State Raod 26 (University Ave./Newberry Road) west , through Newberry and Trenton. When approaching Fanning springs the road curves and then dead ends into US 19. Turn right and go about 1/4 mile on US 19 north, the Trailhead will be on the right, just across from the Agricultural Inspection stop. Why Hokey Pokey rides?
