Class 2 Electric Bicycles

Definition: Class 2 electric bicycle shall mean an electric bicycle equipped with a motor that may be used exclusively to propel the bicycle and that is not capable of providing assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of 20 miles per hour.

These bicycles can be ridden without using the pedals, which is different than Class 1 and 3 electric bicycles which only get assistance from the motor when pedaling.

Class 2 electric bicycles are prohibited on club rides.
